In this fictional world, most inhabitants follow a straight path in time from birth to death, but there are outliers who have periodic or other deviant “world lines”, passing through their space-time point multiple times. The title derives from the different paths of existence by a diverse set of characters. One of the outliers for example, is a Scottish fisherman who is trying to weave his way in the normal world, bringing some sense to the madness created by both human and natural events surrounding him (abduction of a female pilot, military response, earthquakes, and breaches in the time-space continuum).
An intimate tale of how an array of diverse characters cope with living in a quantum multidimensional universe.
EB Diamond has an extensive background in both science and music, having earned her PhD in Biochemistry and written over 30 research articles. She was raised in a family of musicians and has continued the tradition with her violin playing, performing in orchestras and chamber ensembles.
Diamond explains her momentum for writing fiction is to stray from hard data and speculate through original characters about the universal questions that have no easy answer. In World Lines, she has expanded our daily transit from the dream to waking state to the physical transit between multiple dimensions. Her novel seeks to explore the consequences of a variety of characters who live in a multidimensional universe.

Imagine a story where, rather than being a convenient narrative tool, the multiverse , is a character onto itself. All the characters see evidence of it but don’t know the whole picture. Even the ones who can travel through its portals to different times and places (Alternates) don’t understand it fully, and it seems to have a will of its own. But the characters are interesting and eccentric enough that it’s fun to watch them (try to) figure it out! I don’t want to give spoilers, but the ending is bittersweet, giving some resolution but at great cost to one of the characters. The book does a great job of mixing intelligence , subtlety, and humor, and is well worth the read!

New quantum physics discoveries are telling us that the multiverse is real. I enjoyed exploring it in this novel.

This book blew me away. "World Lines" is a rare blend of science fiction, philosophy, and apocalyptic storytelling that feels both grounded and visionary. The pacing is perfect, and the world-building is deeply immersive. Each twist left me in awe, and the ending was both satisfying and thought-provoking. I loved how the author used space-time theory not just as a plot device, but as a way to explore human connection, identity, and sacrifice. It’s smart, emotional, and completely captivating. A must-read for anyone who enjoys speculative fiction that dares to ask big questions. Definitely a five-star read.

This book masterfully blends scientific rigor with speculative exploration of apocalyptic possibilities. The concept of world lines is unpacked thoughtfully, making it accessible and intriguing. A compelling read for anyone interested in how physics shapes our understanding of destiny.

World Lines" isn't just about alternate timelines—it’s about the choices we make, the fragility of existence, and what it means to be human in a universe full of unknowns. The author masterfully connects scientific theory with intimate storytelling, creating a compelling narrative that kept me thinking long after I finished. There’s action, emotion, suspense, and deep philosophical inquiry all rolled into one. The apocalyptic angle is gripping, and the consequences feel real and terrifying. This is the kind of book that deserves to be studied and reread. Five stars for its depth, complexity, and emotional impact.

A masterful exploration of the universe’s structure and potential futures. I loved how the book connected space-time theory with existential reflections. It’s intellectually challenging but extremely rewarding. The author’s passion and clarity shine through every page. Essential reading for anyone fascinated by physics and the cosmos.
